These include but are not limited to ISO 14001; 2004, ISO 9001: 2008, FSSC 22000: 2010, SANS 1840 as well as a recommendation for OHSAS 18001: 2007.
This is an international environmental management standard (EMS) that sets out the criteria for organisations to develop, implement and improve on a formal environmental management system. An accreditation affords our employees, neighboring companies, suppliers, customers and other external stakeholders the assurance that we are committed to managing our environmental impact through a formalized EMS which is regularly measured, enhanced and improved. Our Nigel site achieved certification in 2013.

An internationally accredited and recognized Food Safety System for both the food as well as the food packaging industry. Accreditation across all our manufacturing sites demonstrates Consol's ongoing commitment to food safety consciousness and to ensuring that all our customers have peace of mind, knowing that the manufacturing processes we use are of the highest food safety standards.
This refers to the Legal Metrology of Mass and Volume as described in the Trade Metrology Act on glass packaging and is based on the elements of ISO 9001:2008. Consol is audited against these requirements on a bi-annual basis to verify compliance.
OHSAS 18001: 2007
An international occupational health and safety management system specification. With a commitment to the health and safety of our employees, contractors and visitors Consol has integrated a Safety and Health Management System (based on the requirements of this standard) and has been recommended for certification across all manufacturing sites. Our Nigel and Clayville sites achieved certification in 2013.
We constantly review and benchmark production efficiencies and productivity outputs against international standards and the introduction of 6 Sigma as a management tool has enabled us to continually improve performance and ultimately reduce controllable costs. This coupled with a commitment to human capital development and skills development ensures that we are equipped to address present and future demands.
