Glassy limoncello

Close your eyes, sip on this delicious homemade limoncello and pretend you’re soaking up the Tuscan sun. Use Consol bottles to serve this zesty drink. The glass keeps the limoncello cooler for longer, and because glass has no taste of its own, nothing interferes with the luscious lemony flavour.

Consol Social Limoncello Ingredients

Ingredients Needed

Amount Ingredient
11 lemons
1 litre vodka
3 cups sugar
3 cups boiling water
1 2l Consol my jar
- Swing top beverage bottle

Directions:

  1. Peel strips of lemon zest; keep the lemons to use in water or tea, or for garnishing limoncello glasses.
  2. Pour the vodka into your bottle and add the lemon zest.
  3. Close the bottles, making sure they’re airtight, and let stand at room temperature for at least 2 days, but not longer than 1 week.
  4. When the vodka and lemon mixture is ready, stir the sugar into the water until it has dissolved.
  5. Close the bottles, again making sure they’re airtight, and let stand in the fridge for 1 day.
  6. Strain into smaller bottles.

Serve the limoncello over ice or with soda water. You can freeze them for up to three months (don’t worry, it’s safe to freeze the glass because vodka doesn’t expand when it’s frozen), so if you make a batch now, you’ll have a bottle ready just in time for spring!
